Product Description : DryGuys' TurboDry sets new standards for drying boots and shoes. The patented design places a fan in the toe of the unit. The fan pulls air over the DryGuy proprietary heat convector to circulate warmed air into the toe of the footwear drying moisture from the inside out. I use these to dry ski boots and hiking boots. I found them extremely difficult to get into the ski boots. You have to shove them down and the only place to push on is the back of the bullet. However, there's a heating exhaust vent there which is very fragile and will crack when you push on it. But there's nothing else to push on to get it in the boot, so I consider this a design flaw. Also, ours broke after 3 uses. Just dead. DryGuy replaced it immediately no questions asked, which is good, but it shouldn't have broken in the first place. When these boot warmers arrived I plugged them into the wall and was completely underwhelmed by the fan and heat output. I put them aside, thinking that I'd never use them. On an impulse, I took them with me in the car on the way up to a ski area one morning. (It's a huge bonus that there is the option to plug them into the car lighter if you'd like.) I had them in my boots for about 30 minutes and when I put my boots on I was pleasantly surprised by the snugly warm toastiness of my usually cold and unpliable ski boots. Usually, my boots are uncomfortable and painful for an hour or two until my feet warm them up, but no longer. Since I discovered their worth, I've used these about 6 more times without any problems. I have an "industrial" 110V boot dryer/warmer for home use, but the option for plug in use in the car makes these warmers much more flexible. I'd recommend that you keep them in your boots for at least 15 minutes to get your footwear good and warm.Another bonus is that these double as glove dryers at the end of the day. I read the reviews regarding the durability if these, but so far no issues. I have size 11 feet and these units fit easily into my boots. We'll see how they fare through a full ski season next year, but so far I'm quite satisfied with my purchase. I bought these for my wife for christmas. They worked okay for a day, then started making noise and one of the fans quit working. I contacted DRYGUY and asked them to send me a fan. DRYGUY requires me to ship (at my expense) the entire system back to them with the receipt and they will decide if they will replace them. What a hassle for a poor product.
